Spend an afternoon exploring creativity, emotions, and connection through art, writing, and playful rituals. Program: ⚫️ 12:30: Welcome & Introduction | Pauline Schreurs & Marieke Haandrikman-Schiferli (Founders WOLk) ⚪️ Check-in, introduction to the (WEL) ZIJN art installation, and practical information for the day. ⚫️ 1:00 PM: Participant Round Share what you hope to sow and harvest during the retreat. ⚫️ 1:30–3:00 PM: Workshop 1 | Carmen José, ‘Emotional Trees’ Explore your feelings and connection to the world through drawing and writing, inspired by Carmen’s book I don’t know how to draw a tree. Exercises include observation, care, and emotional expression. Weather permitting, some activities may take place under nearby trees. ⚪️ 3:00–3:30 PM: Reflection & Sharing Participants share insights, drawings, and experiences from Workshop 1. ⚫️ 3:30–5:00 PM: Workshop 2 | Angstea, ‘Who Stole Our Sleep' This workshop is targeted towards (though not exclusively) sheep-counting, ceiling-staring nighttime tossers and turners, and other restless-legged overthinkers. Just a week before “Blue Monday” — allegedly the most depressing day of the year, according to questionable science and commercial interests — we meet to prepare with… tea. Participants will make their own sleep-improving herbal sachets to use at home and design personal tea labels with affirmations revealed through a writing session. ⚪️ 5:00–5:30 PM: Closing Group reflection and sharing of insights and creative outcomes. Practical Info: .Doors open: 12:30 PM .Snacks and fruit provided. Take your own (extra) food if wished .Language: English .Donation based: €15 suggested (open payment request will be send after reserving your spot) .Materials provided for both workshops, including delicious teas and homemade sweets This activity is part of the art and being program (WEL) ZIJN at WOLk. ~About Carmen & Agata ~ .Carmen José is an illustrator, writer, and educator with an MA in Visual Communication from Kunsthochschule Kassel. She co-founded Papiercafé, Growing Space, Lemon House residency, and the Rotterdam Illustration Festival, and has taught at WDKA Art University.
